1. GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1. The “NEXXT AI Hackathon” is a competition organized by UNCHAIN MEDIA S.R.L., based in Brasov, Str. Dimitrie Anghel, no. 15F, ap. 11, Brasov, Brasov county, postal code 500450, registered at the Trade Register with no. J8/1120/2022.
1.2. The event aims to foster innovative AI-driven solutions, encourage teamwork, and facilitate connections between participants and institutions. The competition includes awarding prizes and providing opportunities for further development.
1.3. This document provides a transparent and equitable framework for participation in the hackathon. The regulations also outline the guidelines for conducting the competition. These rules will be applied by the organizing staff.
1.4. Participation in the event is conditional upon acceptance of these Regulations. Acceptance is confirmed by checking the box on the event webpage (www.nexxtsummit.com) stating “I have read and agree to the NEXXT AI Hackathon rules.”
2. TERMINOLOGY
- Hackathon: A competition where teams develop AI solutions based on challenges provided by the organizers. The event runs for three days, culminating in a final presentation and evaluation.
- Organizer: UNCHAIN MEDIA S.R.L., the entity organizing the hackathon.
- Partner: Entities assisting with the event, including sponsors, institutional partners, media partners, and technical collaborators.
- Hackathon Team: A group of two or more individuals participating in the competition.
- Mentor: A professional providing guidance to teams during the competition.
- Jury: A group of experts evaluating the teams’ projects and selecting winners.
- Challenge: A specific problem or theme provided by the organizers for which teams must develop solutions.
- Solution: The AI-driven application or software developed to address the challenge.
3. HACKATHON PROGRAM
3.1. The competition will take place in-person at the NEXXT Summit, which will be held from November 8 to November 10, 2024.
3.2. The specific challenges related to AI-driven solutions will be provided by the organizers on November 8, 2024. Upon receiving the challenges, each team will select one to focus on.
3.3. Teams will begin working on their chosen challenge immediately after selection, with the hackathon officially starting on November 8, 2024.
3.4. Throughout the event, teams are expected to develop their solutions and update their progress as scheduled. All final submissions must be completed by November 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM.
3.5. The final presentation and evaluation of the projects will take place on November 10, 2024, starting at 4:00 PM. Teams will present their projects live in-person at the NEXXT Summit. Each presentation will consist of a 5-minute demonstration followed by a 5-minute Q&A session with the jury.
4. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
4.1. Decisions by the organizers are final and binding. The organizer may disqualify participants who tamper with the registration process or violate the rules.
4.2. Participants must comply with the rules, Terms and Conditions, and Code of Conduct. All rights, licenses, and permissions for the application must be secured, and the submission must not infringe on third-party intellectual property.
4.3. Participants must ensure their submissions do not include offensive or illegal content and adhere to all relevant laws.
4.4. The competition is open to individuals with at least one team member over the age of 18. The organizer may verify participants’ eligibility and disqualify those who violate the rules.
4.5. Discrepancies between provided data and reality will result in disqualification.
4.6. The organizer is not obligated to provide feedback to non-winning participants.
5. HACKATHON MECHANISM
5.1. The specific challenges related to AI-driven solutions will be provided by the organizers on November 8, 2024. Upon receiving the challenges, each team will select one to focus on.

6. DETERMINING THE WINNERS
6.1. The jury will consist of professionals and experts selected by the organizer. They will guide the teams and assist in selecting the winners.
6.2. Winners will be selected based on:
- Scope: Identifying an unaddressed need and the relevance of the solution.
- Clarity: Logical link between needs, objectives, activities, resources, and expected results.
- Innovation: Originality and uniqueness of the solution.
- Implementation Capability: Feasibility of the solution and potential for large-scale adoption.
- Business Experience: Professional experience relevant to the project.
- Adoption Time: Potential availability and usability of the solution.
- Technology Used: Effective use of AI technologies.
6.3. The organizer may disqualify participants who do not comply with the competition rules.
6.4. The winners will be announced based on the jury’s evaluation. In case of a tie, the most appreciated entry will be selected. Disqualified teams may be replaced at the organizer’s discretion.
7. HACKATHON AWARD
7.1. The winning team will receive a grand prize of €3,000, and the runner-up will receive €1,000. The prize will be shared equally among the team members and is not transferable.
7.2. Prizes may change at the organizer’s discretion. Any changes will be announced on the official competition website.
7.3. Winners are responsible for any applicable taxes. Required documentation for tax purposes must be provided to the organizer.
7.4. The prize must be redeemed within 12 months from the date of the award announcement.
8. PUBLICATION OF CONTEST RULEBOOK
8.1. The competition rules are available free of charge on the contest page at www.nexxtsummit.com. No additional fees are required from participants.
8.2. The organizer reserves the right to amend these rules, including changes to location, participation conditions, dates, and prizes, without compensation to participants.
9. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
9.1. The organizer and affiliated parties are not responsible for any technical malfunctions, errors, or issues affecting the competition or submission process.
10. SIMILAR IDEAS
10.1. Participants acknowledge that similar ideas may exist and agree not to seek compensation for any similarities.
11. PERSONAL DATA
11.1. Personal data collected from participants will be used for the purpose of organizing the hackathon and contacting participants for future events.
11.2. Participants must provide accurate information. Inaccurate or incomplete submissions will be disqualified.
11.3. The names of winners will be published for informational and promotional purposes. Participants consent to this use of their data.
11.4. Personal data will be handled in accordance with EC Regulation 679/2016 on data protection.
11.5. Participants agree to the collection and processing of personal data for hackathon purposes. They have the right to access, rectify, and request removal of their data.
11.6. If a partner wishes to collaborate on a solution, personal data may be shared with that partner to facilitate the connection.
11.7. Participants may withdraw from the contest by sending a request to team@unchain.media.
12. LITIGATION
12.1. Disputes will be resolved amicably or by the competent courts at the organizer’s location.
12.2. UNCHAIN MEDIA S.R.L. is responsible for handling all requests and appeals related to the contest.
13. ELIGIBILITY
13.1. Participants from all backgrounds and regions are welcome. Organizing team members and their affiliates are not eligible to participate but may assist teams.
13.2. There are no country restrictions, but entrants must be eligible to receive the prize and handle any additional fees.
14. COPYRIGHT AND PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
14.1. Teams retain ownership of their projects. The organizer and mentors provide support but do not claim rights to the projects.
14.2. The concept and intellectual property rights of the projects developed during the hackathon remain with the participants, subject to copyright laws.
14.3. By participating, individuals grant the organizer a royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, and promote their submissions for competition purposes.
